Description
AlfaPolymer is a high-tech AlfaDirect wrapped sand screen product combined with expandable polymer technology. The main idea is to use special materials that can take an expanded shape and create close contact with an open well bore.
This feature of polymer sand screen reduces the risk of sand production by reducing voids around the well during expansion. The expanded polymer shell remains permeable to the oil fluid, which ensures the oil recovery. A special activation fluid is used to activate the polymer expansion process.
The idea of a polymer expansion sand screen is based on a number of gravel sand screen designs, in which fluid filtration occurs in the area of the gravel part of the sand screen, which allows achieving high parameters for permeability and purification of the fluid from mechanical impurities. But the implementation of such gravel packing is quite expensive and not always successfully applied. In this regard, polymer expanding sand screens have good prospects for their implementation in production technologies in the oil and gas industry.

Usage
AlfaPolymer has a wide range of applications for sand control. It can be used in non-uniform reservoirs of oil fields.
