Some of the main elements of the well screen (inflow and injection control devices) subject to wear are the ICD nozzle and the AIV valve. The wear mechanism is predominantly hydroabrasive.

On contact, rock particles can either be pressed into the surface of the material or leave characteristic stripes after impact. The intensity and nature of wear is influenced by the nature and geometric shape of particles, their hardness and brittleness, the thickness of the abrasive layer, impact energy, hardness of the test material, the presence of liquid in the impact zone, etc. In this regard, an urgent task is to select a suitable material for manufacturing screens with ICD/ AIV, with sufficient durability to work in aggressive conditions.

To achieve this goal, Alfa Horizon LLC implemented tests, the purpose of which was - a comparative assessment of the resistance of various materials of parts of well Erosion testsscreens to erosion wear in the flow of a suspension with abrasive particles of various fractions in the conditions of production of production and injection wells of the Severo-Komsomolskoye field.
