Description

AlfaCompact is a version of a multi-layer mesh sand screen with increased erosion resistance strength. The screen has a three-layer structure. The internal drainage layer of the screen is a perforated casing up to 1.5mm thick with open holes of 6.35mm diameter and spherical recesses (2-3mm) for fitting onto the base pipe. The filtering layer is a spiral laid metal mesh of the reverse dutch weave, cell from 70 microns.

The outer layer of the screen is a casing up to 2 mm thick with slots extruded along the casing surface, the slot size is from 0.3 mm to 1.5 mm. The concave slots are bridged and contribute to an even distribution of fluid in the filter.

Detail description

The filter uses a double drainage scheme, which increases the filter's permeability, reduces the effect of possible sticking, eliminates the formation of stagnant zones, and also reduces the fluid flow rate and the effect of erosion of the filter surface. AlfaCompact filters are manufactured using the technology of spiral welding of casings. Also, the filter design compression technology is used to minimize the outer diameter of the filter. The filtering layer between the casings is not fixed by welding, but the casings are fastened together by welding with end rings.

The filter belongs to the type of premium filters, since it is a highly durable product with high permeability rates. The filter can be used in a variety of oil and gas well applications including offshore fields.
