Description

Inflow control device AlfaDirect ICD is a type of passive control of fluid inflow into the well. It is a ceramic choke, the size of which is calculated when designing the zonal inflow into the well. Like all inflow control devices, AlfaDirect ICD is used to equalize the pressure profile along the well to minimize the risk of coning and, as a consequence, water or gas breakthrough.

AlfaDirect ICD inflow control devices are equipped with an AlfaDirect sand screen, since in such a combination with a wire filter an effective solution is achieved for the problems of regulating the flow profile into the well.

Detail description

The direct wrapped AlfaDirect screen has a higher strength than other types of wire screens because it is wound directly onto the base tube, which significantly reduces the risk of damage to the filter. Due to the high resistance of the filter to rotational loads and compression, the risks of damage to AlfaDirect during running and reciprocation of the assembly are minimized, which facilitates bringing the liner to the bottom.

Usage

AlfaDirect ICD is used in oil field reservoirs where it is required to equalize the reservoir pressure profile along the length of the well.
